Elaine Segretto, Hospital Administrator

Hospital Manager

I grew up in Silver Spring Maryland and am an alumni of the University of Maryland College Park. I came to Green Valley in September of 2003 after realizing I wanted not just a job but a career that I am passionate about. I have worked in all areas of the hospital but truly love my duties as a manager and continued work as a technician.

I love working complex cases with our doctors and the rewarding feeling of making pets happy and healthy again. I also have a special interest in canine behavior, nutrition and in orthopedic medicine and surgery.

I previously assisted with the breeding, raising and training of German Shepherds. I loved it even though it is a lot of work! For fun I have trained dogs in the sport of Schutzhund, which is 3-stage competitive training program that tests a dog’s proficiency in tracking, obedience, and protection. Currently I do not have a working line shepherd for competition, just my show line shepherd who is the sweetest dog. For me there is nothing like the bond between an owner and their pet. I love what I do because I love helping to make that bond stronger for our clients.

At home I enjoy spending time with my husband, our German Shepherds Sedai and Kao, as well as our cat King who was adopted from GVAH. I love to taking my dog out to the park for a run or swim in the stream.
